Private Label Supplier - Yiwu, China

Custom packaging in China, produced with the product

Packaging printed, packed and inspected in the same Yiwu supply chain run as the goods themselves - not ordered from a separate printer after the fact.

Custom Packaging China: One Integrated Production Run, Not a Relay of Suppliers

Most buyers who order custom packaging china do not need a box. They need a finished retail unit: the product, the branding, the label and the carton, packed and inspected as one sellable item. That is what this service delivers. The Private Label Supplier, operated by Mutual Trade (Yiwu Michu Guomao), sources ready consumer products from vetted supplier factories around Yiwu International Trade City and the industrial belts of Jinhua, Yongkang, Pujiang and Dongyang, arranges packaging and branding, packs the goods into that packaging during consolidation in Yiwu, and inspects the result as a finished unit before it ships.

The Integrated Model vs the Fragmented Alternative

Three ways to get a packaged product, three levels of risk

The fragmented routes are common and each one adds a handover where something can go wrong.

  • Buy products in China, ship them elsewhere for packaging. The goods leave the factory, travel as bulk cargo, are unpacked, packed again and stored again. Every extra handling step is a chance for scuffs, crushed corners and mixed SKUs, and freight is paid twice on material that could have travelled once.
  • Order empty boxes from a standalone printer. The printer works to a dieline, not to your actual product. Tolerances drift, inserts do not fit, colours do not match the label, and nobody owns the moment when product and box finally meet.
  • Buy packaging and product from two suppliers with no shared checkpoint. When a box arrives too small or a print run is off-shade, responsibility is divided between parties who never spoke to each other. The buyer becomes the quality department.

In the integrated model there is one chain of custody. Products are sourced, packaging is printed, goods are packed into it in Yiwu, and the packed unit is inspected before it leaves. Handling steps drop, mismatch risk drops, and one team is accountable for the finished retail unit rather than for a component of it. If you are still comparing packaging forms and options in isolation, see our custom packaging page for the formats themselves; this page is about how they are executed inside a single production run.

How an Integrated Run Works, Step by Step

1. Artwork and dieline checks

Before anything is printed, the dieline is checked against the actual product dimensions and the artwork is checked against the dieline: bleed, safe margins, barcode placement, mandatory label text and language variants. Errors caught here cost nothing. Errors caught after printing cost a run.

2. Print proofing

A proof is produced and reviewed for colour, finish and text accuracy, with Pantone colour matching where specified. Approval is documented before mass printing begins.

3. Packaging sample approval

A physical packaging sample is approved, ideally with the product inside it. This is the step that confirms fit, structural integrity and the look of the finished unit, and it is the reference held against production.

4. Packing during consolidation in Yiwu

As goods from different factories arrive for consolidation, they are packed into the approved packaging in Yiwu. Because packing happens in the same run as consolidation, there is no separate shipment of empty boxes and no second freight leg for bulk goods.

5. Outgoing inspection of packed units

Inspection is performed on the finished retail unit, not on loose product. Checks cover print errors, colour difference against the approved sample, label and barcode accuracy, packing integrity and carton marking. AQL sampling runs at level 2.5/4.0, with a stricter 0.65 level available on request, and reports include high-definition photos, video, a defect list and re-inspection records. Buyers may appoint third-party inspectors such as SGS, BV, TUV or Intertek. Batch samples and records are kept for at least 12 months.

What Can Be Produced Alongside Your Orders

  • Colour boxes, mailer boxes and gift boxes
  • Blister packs and OPP bags
  • Hangtags and thank-you inserts
  • Multilingual labels and instruction manuals designed and translated in 10+ languages
  • UPC/EAN barcodes, SKU labels, Amazon FBA labels and California Prop 65 warning labels

Private label branding applied to packaging is also available to online sellers, and is frequently combined with private label packaging for retail-ready presentation. Branding carries a minimum quantity and a separate customisation fee, quoted per product; ask your account manager for the exact figure for your item. Unbranded dropshipping is a separate service with no MOQ and should not be confused with branded packaging runs.

FAQ

Can I order packaging without ordering the product?

No. The model is built around one integrated run in which packaging is printed and the goods are packed into it in Yiwu. This is what allows the finished unit to be inspected as a retail item. Packaging is quoted per product alongside your order.

Who checks the finished packed unit?

Our quality team inspects the packed unit during outgoing inspection, covering print errors, colour difference against the approved sample, labels and barcodes, and packing integrity. You may also appoint a third-party inspector such as SGS, BV, TUV or Intertek.

Is custom packaging available with no minimum order?

No. Branding and custom packaging carry a minimum quantity and a separate customisation fee, and packaging minimums follow the product category. Your account manager will confirm the exact minimum and fee for your product before the run is booked.
