Private Label Supplier - Yiwu, China

Custom packaging, packed with the product inside

We do not sell empty boxes. Your products are sourced, packed into your custom packaging in Yiwu, inspected as finished retail units and shipped ready for the shelf.

Custom Packaging Delivered With Your Product Inside

Most suppliers treat custom packaging as a printing job: you send a dieline, they send back flat boxes, and you are left to source the product, ship the two together, and hope nothing gets damaged in between. The Private Label Supplier works the other way round. Custom packaging is built into the product order itself — we source your product from vetted supplier factories around Yiwu International Trade City and the industrial belts of Jinhua, Yongkang, Pujiang and Dongyang, print and pack it into your custom packaging boxes, inspect the finished units, and ship them as retail-ready goods. You receive one consolidated shipment of packed, labelled, saleable products — not a pallet of empty cartons and a separate pallet of goods.

That distinction matters more than it sounds. When packaging and product are handled in one run, the box is sized to the actual product, the print is matched to the actual material, the labels carry the actual barcode, and the first time anyone discovers a fit problem is at sample stage — not after 5,000 units have shipped from two different suppliers on two different schedules.

Packaging Forms Available

We arrange the full outer-packaging layer for consumer goods, alongside the product itself:

  • Colour boxes — printed folding cartons with logo printing, foil stamping or Pantone colour matching for shelf-ready presentation.
  • Custom mailer boxes — corrugated or rigid mailers for direct-to-consumer shipping, sized to survive transit and open to a branded unboxing.
  • Gift boxes — rigid boxes and gift-set bundles for holiday, beauty, jewellery and small appliance lines.
  • Blister packs — for hardware, tools and small accessories that need visible product and hanging capability.
  • Hangtags — printed or embroidered tags for bags, apparel, textiles and soft goods.
  • OPP bags — clear or printed poly bags with or without headers, for low-cost protection and retail hanging.

Where a product needs a material upgrade — food-grade contact materials for kitchenware, eco or antibacterial materials for household goods — that decision is made together with the packaging choice, because the two affect each other's cost and compliance path. As a custom packaging supplier working through vetted factories rather than a single print house, we can match the carton, the insert and the product finish as one specification.

How Product and Packaging Are Combined in One Run

The workflow is deliberately sequential, so that nothing is printed before it is approved and nothing is packed before it is checked:

  • Sample approval first. The first sample typically takes 7–15 days. A fast sampling channel prioritises small sample runs of 1–50 pieces, which lets you hold the product, the box and the label together before committing to bulk.
  • Print proofing second. Artwork is proofed for colour, copy, barcode placement and dieline fit against the approved sample. Packaging is only released to production once the proof is signed off.
  • Packing during consolidation. Products are made by the supplier factories, inspected, then packed into your custom packaging boxes during consolidation in Yiwu — the same step where mixed SKUs and categories are combined into one container. Packing at consolidation means the packed unit, the master carton and the shipping mark are all built in one place.

Quality control runs across the whole process: incoming, in-process, first-piece, final and outgoing inspection, with AQL sampling at level 2.5/4.0 or a stricter 0.65 level on request. Reports include high-definition photos, video, a defect list and re-inspection records, and buyers may appoint third-party inspectors such as SGS, BV, TUV or Intertek. Batch samples and records are kept for at least 12 months.

Custom Product Packaging for Small Businesses Starting a Brand

New brands rarely fail on ambition; they fail on volume maths. The practical route into custom packaging for small business is to start from the minimum order quantity of your product category rather than from a packaging catalogue. Typical per-style MOQs are:

CategoryMOQ per styleReady stock lead timeCustomised lead time
Household goods100–500 pcs7–15 days15–30 days
Hardware tools200–500 sets——
Bags200–400 pcs15–25 days20–35 days
Jewellery and accessories300–800 sets10–20 days15–30 days
Textiles and apparel200–1,000 pcs20–30 days30–50 days
Toys200–500 sets15–25 days25–45 days
Small appliances and holiday gifts200–600 pcs——

Accessories and consumable spare parts can be ordered separately at 50–200 pieces. Across categories, MOQs typically run 100–800 pieces per style, and multiple SKUs and categories can be mixed in one consolidated container — which is how a small brand builds a coherent first range of, say, four household items and two gift sets without ordering a container of each. For each request the team prepares 3–5 alternative options with a comparison of cost, lead time and quality risk, plus best-seller line-extension ideas such as the same product in new sizes or colours, material upgrades, or gift-set bundles.

Note that private label branding — custom packaging, thank-you inserts, product logos — carries a minimum quantity and a separate customisation fee. Ask your account manager for the exact figure for your product; general unbranded dropshipping is a different service with different terms.

Artwork, Labels and Multilingual Copy

The packaging is only retail-ready if the copy on it is correct for the destination market. We design and translate labels and instruction manuals in 10+ languages, and prepare UPC/EAN barcodes, SKU labels, Amazon FBA labels and California Prop 65 warning labels. Multilingual warning labels and declarations of conformity are prepared per product, per destination market and per batch — compliance is arranged case by case, not assumed.

We do not issue certificates ourselves. Testing is coordinated with ISO 17025 third-party laboratories such as SGS, BV, HQTS, Intertek and TUV, with documents prepared for EN71 (toys), ASTM F963 and CPSIA (US), REACH and RoHS (EU), FDA food-contact testing (kitchenware), CE documentation, CPC, declarations of conformity and certificates of origin (CO / Form A). Testing fees are charged directly by the laboratory — the fee for a full EN71 set is confirmed per product against the laboratory's quote — while coordination and document preparation is RMB 500–2,000 per order. A standard test report takes about 15–45 days. Certificates available upon request.

FAQ

Is custom packaging a separate order from the product?

No. Custom packaging is priced with the product order and quoted as one line of the same project. The minimums follow the product category — for example 100–500 pieces for household goods or 200–500 sets for toys — not a separate packaging minimum, because the boxes are produced and filled in the same run. Branding carries its own minimum quantity and a separate customisation fee, so confirm the exact figure with your account manager for your specific product.

Can I mix SKUs and packaging styles in one shipment?

Yes. Multiple SKUs and categories can be mixed in one consolidated container, and each style can carry its own box, hangtag or bag specification. This is how smaller brands reach efficient freight volumes without over-ordering any single item.

Who handles labels and manuals for my destination market?

We do. Labels and instruction manuals are designed and translated in 10+ languages, with barcodes, SKU labels, FBA labels and Prop 65 warnings prepared to your market's requirements. Testing and certification documents are coordinated with ISO 17025 laboratories per product, market and batch. To start a packaging-and-product brief, write to [email protected].
